Floor Staining & Whitewashing, Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong & Central Coast
Custom colour matching, feature staining and whitewash or limewash finishes to change the character of a timber floor entirely.
Why Stain a Timber Floor?
Staining lets you change the tone of your timber independently of its natural colour — darkening a light floorboard, warming up a cool-toned timber, or matching new boards to an existing floor after a repair or extension. It's applied after sanding and before the protective topcoats go on.
Whitewashing & Limewashing
Whitewash and limewash finishes lighten timber while still letting the grain show through, giving a Scandinavian or coastal look that has become increasingly popular in renovations across Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong and the Central Coast. This is a specialised technique — uneven application shows easily — so we always test on an offcut or inconspicuous area first.
Colour Matching
Extending a floor into a new room, or replacing damaged boards? We colour-match stain to your existing floor so the join blends in rather than standing out. Bring a photo of your current floor when you enquire and we can give you an early read on how achievable a match will be.
Our Staining Process
- Floor is fully sanded back to bare, clean timber
- Test patch applied in a low-visibility area to confirm colour and coverage
- Stain or whitewash applied evenly across the full floor
- Sealer and topcoats applied to protect the finished colour
Once stained, your floor is finished with your choice of matte, satin or gloss protection — see our floor polishing page for details.
